Universal design is about making technology more inclusive and accessible, especially for people with a disability.
Inclusive design needs to be addressed at the initial design and development phases.
Companies like Microsoft and Apple are doing better and designing products with this in mind. Microsoft developed design principles and Apple recently announced plans to update software features designed for people with mobility, vision, hearing and cognitive disabilities.
As Innovation & Tech Today puts it: “When accessibility and adaptability are part of a comprehensive design process, companies can save time and money while producing more inclusive and ethically appropriate products.”
