Leadership Programs Offer a Competitive Edge

by The 100 Companies

Many engineers aspire to leadership roles. But the skills required aren’t the same as the technical skills cultivated in college and early career positions. Increasingly, universities and continuing education providers are creating programs to help engineers achieve the next level.

One example is the University of Washington, whose engineering school is ranked No. 27 on U.S. News & World Report’s 2019 list. Developed by UW’s Professional & Continuing Education arm, Continuum College, the Certificate in Engineering Leadership online program helps engineers “lead diverse teams, mentor employees, make data-driven decisions and guide complex projects to completion.”

The next session begins in March.
