Engineers are problem solvers. And right now, the whole world is focused on an unprecedented problem: the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s a health crisis, an economic crisis, a challenge for governments and families alike. It touches everyone.
We’ve all heard Mr. Rogers’ advice for scary times, “Look for the helpers.” We looked, and we saw you.
We found engineers working to develop testing, managing public health data, converting factories to manufacture critical equipment and building hospitals seemingly overnight. We’ve found them at home “MacGyvering” ventilators and building Rube Goldberg machines with the kids. We hope this special issue brings you inspiration.
