Engineering a better pair of specs: Morel’s revolutionary frames

by The 100 Companies

If you’ve ever lost one of those itty-bitty screws that hold your glasses together, you know all about the improvised paperclip fix or the all-day-in-your-backup-glasses look.

Morel’s eyewear design engineers have a better idea. No screws at all.

Morel’s Lightec collection features patented flexible, durable, minimalistic hinges.

The Omicron hinge uses a stainless steel blade and a notch to attach the temple to the endpiece. “There is no risk of breaking the post because it’s in one piece. Omicron has been tested on 50,000 open and close cycles in Morel’s laboratory. No breakage has been reported,” the company says.
