The 89th 24 Hours of Le Mans race takes place Aug. 21-22. This testament to automobile engineering gained more notoriety after the 2019 movie “Ford v Ferrari.” Mose Nowland had a track-side view for moments captured in the movie, and many others. For 57 years, he built Ford engines for NASCAR, IndyCar and Le Mans racing.

Nowland is retired, but still works at the Henry Ford and Edsel and Eleanor Ford houses. “When you’re working in motor sports and everything’s got to be perfect for Sunday, your adrenaline is going 24 hours … I still want to stay busy,” he said.
