One of STEM’s most prestigious scholarships is taking a giant leap.
The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation, started by the Mercury 7, increased its award to students by 50% this year. The award for each student is now up to $15,000.
And it’s not just for aspiring astronauts. Any STEM degree qualifies, and this year, a total of 56 exceptional students got an award.
In the program’s 35-year history, more than 600 students have been awarded over $5 million. Astronaut Scholars have gone on to publish 264 technical papers and secure 123 patents. Watch the video to meet a few of them.
