Engineering an inclusive playground

by The 100 Companies

Harper’s Playground, co-founded by G Cody QJ Goldberg and his wife April, designs, funds and manages the construction of inclusive playgrounds. When the Goldbergs’ daughter, Harper, struggled to access their local playground, the family committed to rethinking playground design.

Harper’s Playgrounds are engineered to encourage “free play,” which supports creativity and problem solving — skills scientists know to be critical to behavioral and cognitive development. Cody Goldberg says kids quickly tire of prescribed play. Free play encourages greater interaction and confidence across all abilities as children engage and explore together.
