Controlled Access Means Safer Food on Your Plate

by The 100 Companies

Every year, 48 million people in the United States get a foodborne illness. That’s a number no one likes – not the FDA, not the food industry and definitely not humans who eat.

Enter engineering.

To keep food safe from contamination, the FDA requires companies to control who accesses food before it reaches your plate. For food and beverage companies like PepsiCo, that’s a huge undertaking.

Recently, PepsiCo installed Honeywell’s Pro-Watch access control solution in 300+ locations. The remote security monitoring and control platform means managers can limit and track access to facilities or equipment, so you can eat without worry.
